Recreational Gymnastics

Our Recreational Gymnastics program encompasses a variety of skills on a wide range of apparatus including floor, bars, beam, mini tramp, hand apparatus (ball, hoop, rope, ribbon), group pyramids and throws. These classes aim to develop core gymnastics skills, shaping, strength and flexibility in a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere.

Classes are structured to help gymnasts progress through our curriculum. We allow gymnasts to progress their skills as they are able to demonstrate the key points for a skill. This means if they may progress faster on some apparatus and skills than others.

The classes are organised according to year at school (age) and skill level. New members and continuing members working our Beginner curriculum go in a “Beginner” class for their age group.

Once members have started working on progressions / skills in the Foundation curriculum we aim to move them into a “Foundation” class for their age group.

Generally gymnasts do one class per week, but are welcome to do more.
